I am down for the count.
For the rest of the pregnancy.
Horizontal.
And surprisingly it isn’t due to contractions.
No, we now have a bigger problem.
Dr. Peri believes I am heading into preeclampsia.
Fabulous.
As a result, I am on bed rest.
And will be monitored twice a week.
Dr. Peri believes my high blood pressure is being partially masked by the P.rocardia I am taking for contractions. The first time I spill trace protein into my urine or if my blood pressure increases further I will be hospitalized.
I have never seen Dr. Peri be so concerned and serious.
According to him, if we still had quints, the pregnancy would be over by now.
As Dr. Peri said, all I can do is what I have been doing… staying down.
Am I scared?
Sure.
But for a woman who is one urine dipstick away from pre-viability hospitalization, I’m doing fine. I can only hope this home confinement bed rest lasts for weeks to come…

You keep on keepin on girl!!!!! So we are aiming (short-term) for 24 weeks.........which will be here before we know it - and soak in every soap, Judge Judy show, Regis and Kelley, and Oprah that you could ever wish to see - and text or call me whenever you feel like you are going to go stir-crazy or just want to chat:) I am trying to keep patient myself - mother nature is a lady with her own timetable......... You are my hero!!! You have been so strong the whole time. I will be thinking of you and your family. My prayers are with you.
My fingers are crossed that everything stays ok and those babies stay baking for as long as possible! Keep knitting and watching tv!

How are ya doing today?? I won't pester you on a daily basis, but I just want to say hi - I hope you can still lay outside on a lounge chair and watch your nieces swim??? I am going today for fetal heart monitoring - one of those advanced maternal age precautions.........I hope the babies' echos all looked good!!! Take good care of all 4 of you today!! If you need a craving or fun dessert dropped off, don't hesitate to ask me:)

By the way, Happy Birthday! Bed rest probably isn't how you wanted to spend it, but I know you've had a lot of good ones before this! Think of those cute little ones. Never thought you'd catch up to the same number as Liz and I so quickly. Hey Matt, spoil her some more. She deserves it after what she's enduring. All five of you are in our prayers.
